Mother and daughter photos

Sammi & Ruby arrived to their session with flowers in their hair and were ready to dance and play. This session was very special for Sammi as she wanted to get some beautiful mother and daughter photos to display in their new home together.

Ruby was two and a half, one of my favourite ages to photograph because children this age are so ready to play and be silly, explore and are so curious about everything. Ruby loved to run around, so I chased her in between the trees at the National Arboretum. We got her dancing and blowing bubbles and cuddling with her mother who was full of giggles as she chased after her precious girl.

There are so many changes between the age of two and three. They’re learning how to communicate better, they are often going through big milestone changes like giving up the bottle and dummies, moving into big kid beds, learning how to use the toilet… Sometimes a new sibling might come along at this stage too, so they have a lot to adjust to! Watching the changes occur in your two-year-old can be so incredible and awe-inspiring. It feels like just a few weeks ago that they were saying one or two words together, but now they’re stringing lots of words together to make full sentences!

I digress though, Ruby, at two and a half, was pretty special. These two beautiful ladies were so pleasurable to photograph and I love the connectedness of their photos. Thanks so much Sammi for trusting me to capture some beautiful photos of you and your daughter!

If you would like to talk about how we can capture you and your children for some mother and daughter photos or father and son session, let me know!
